Casita Gonzales is a vacation rental located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains only 2 miles to the Plaza. Local sites include Canyon Road (2 miles), the Dale Ball hiking trails (1 mile), Ten Thousand Waves Spa (5 minutes), Fort Marcy Exercise Center/Pool/Park (1 mile), Ski Santa Fe (20 minutes up the ski road) and the Santa Fe Opera (15 minutes).

The guest rental is attached to the main house, but has a separate entrance and parking spot. Recently remodeled, it has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed, one full bath, full kitchen, and a living/dining area with a fireplace. There is a porch with a patio table. It has wireless, TV (cable) and DVD player. There is parking for two cars.

Our nightly rate is $110/night (tax included). There's a two-night minimum and a $100 security deposit. Weekly rate is $600 for 6 nights/7days. Monthly rate is $1400. Prices vary due to season and availability. Maximum occupancy 4 persons. We are child friendly. No pets please.

Suitable Digs is a small, eclectic group of short-term green lodgings set on 2 1/2 acres just 10 car-minutes from the Plaza in Santa Fe, with ample patio, lush seasonal organic vegetable and fruit gardens, a geodesic greenhouse, a grape arbour, young fruit trees. A wonderful walking/running/biking trail is just nearby.

There are two lovely, small apartments with professionally handmade interiors, the Earth Room and the Sun Room, each made to be "a home away from home". They are available by the night ($125, double occupancy) and by the week ($700), with longer times/rates possible. Each apartment sleeps up to three people.

There is also the Bunkhouse, with three "bunks" (single beds), a simple kitchen and dining area, and a bathroom. It has that cozy retro/camp/cabin feeling, updated and beautiful. Take the whole place for $100/night, or take a bed for $40/night, with special rates available for stays of a week or more.

The Main House is a post-and-beam building dismantled in New Hampshire and rebuilt in Santa Fe 22 years ago. It has one fine sleeping room, the Green Room, with shared kitchen and bathroom. This spacious and richly-coloured room has a sleeping loft above and living area below, with second-floor deck access and wonderful views. The cost is $75/night and $450/week, double occupancy. Also in the Main House is the Sauna Room, with a 2-person cedar sauna offering the finest far-infrared technology, available to guests for a small fee.

Suitable Digs has been maintained with high ecological standards for many years, inside and out.

Stays of one night carry a surcharge of 20%.
