From 1961-68 Howard taught family members of American military personnel stationed in France and Germany. While living in Europe, he exhibited paintings in France, England and Germany. In 1968, he moved to Albuquerque, NM, where along with his colleague, Siegfried Hahn, he instructed students at their art academy. Howard taught students at the Art Masters Academy, the New Mexico Art League and gave workshops in the Southwest US and Morocco.
