Jane Tuckerman is a photographer, works with infrared black-and-white and was born in 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
She attended the Art Institute of Boston from 1968 to 1971 and earned her MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence.
An assistant professor of art at Harvard University since 1978, she directs the school's photography program. In 1977-78 she taught at Harvard's New England School of Photography and from 1971 to 1975 organized photography programs for juvenile delinquents at reform and alternative schools. Tuckerman served as photography critic for Boston After Dark in 1971-72 and was a photographer at MGM Studios in Los Angeles in 1970.
