Antique Oak Parlor Table – Scalloped Two-Tier, Spool-Turned Legs – Circa 1900-1910 (Project/Restoration Piece)
Charming antique American oak parlor table featuring a scalloped serpentine top edge, matching scalloped undershelf, and beautifully turned spool/bobbin legs — classic late Victorian/Edwardian styling.
The good: The tabletop finish is original and in lovely condition — warm, rich patina with no major wear, stains, or refinishing needed on the surface itself. This is a beautiful old piece of oak.
Condition — please read before buying:
This table needs restoration work and is priced accordingly. It is not ready for everyday use as-is.
The tabletop has a full-length crack straight through the seam where the boards were originally glued together (visible in photos). This will need a woodworker to properly disassemble, reglue, and clamp — not a quick fix.
All leg joints are loose where they meet the apron/shelf. At least one joint shows old splintering at the tenon. The whole base will need to be reglued/reinforced for stability.
Structurally this is a project for someone comfortable with furniture repair, or a woodworker/restorer looking for a solid oak piece with a gorgeous top worth saving.
