This estate reflects the life of a remarkable man—an accomplished athlete, a devoted scholar and professional, and a collector with an exceptional eye for art and artifacts of the American West. Originally from Chicago, he built a rich and fulfilling life in the Bay Area of California and in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, before eventually making Santa Fe his home.
Though he lived in Santa Fe for only eight years, he embraced every moment. From his expansive deck, he greeted each sunrise and honored each sunset, finding inspiration in the quiet beauty of the high desert. He cherished music across decades and genres, and he was an enthusiastic follower of both football and track & field. A gifted athlete himself, he held the Illinois state “Scissor Kick” high jump record for an impressive 17 years—until the Fosbury Flop reshaped the sport. He was deeply valued by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed by the Rancho Viejo community.
His thoughtfully curated belongings are now ready to be passed forward to Santa Fe. The collection includes artwork, Southwest artifacts, furnishings, decorative pieces, fine china, crystal, clothing, Asian art, vintage Foo Dogs, and a charming assortment of Christmas ornaments. Every item has been well cared for and reflects quality, character, and history.
These pieces now await new homes—perhaps as a meaningful addition to your own space or as a unique holiday gift for someone you love. With such a distinctive and well-curated selection, there is truly no better place to shop in Santa Fe this weekend. As our final event of 2025—and quite possibly our largest—this is a sale you won’t want to miss.
