French Cul de Poule or rolled top copper / Cuivre Mixing Bowl. Handmade in the French Normandy town of Villedieu-les-Poeles long known for superior handcrafted bakeware and cookware. It is a features a rounded bottom and a brass hanging ring. Both of these features allow the chef to comfortably hold the bowl while beating eggs or whipping up a sauce. The bowl does not sit flat but the ring allows for hanging when not in use.

The bowl is shiny copper with some patina and it is with stamped with Made in France, a logo chef's hat and Villedieu as shown in the pics. It is a larger size with a 12 1/2" diameter and a depth of 6 1/2". It is in very good condition and could easily be used a fruit bowl or for decoration. I am not quite sure of its' age as these bowls have been made for generations but I believe it is circa 1980.
