The Moto Guzzi V7 “Anniversario” Anniversary Special Is A Limited Edition Masterpiece

by Joe Appleton Updated on August 20, 2018. In Motorcycles

If you’re looking for a super special Moto Guzzi V7 III that’s limited to less than 1000 units but boasts a respectable price tag, then look no further. For 2017, Moto Guzzi are adding a fourth model to their iconic V7 range: the Anniversario. It shares a lot of similarities with the Stone, the Special, and the Racer models, but this one is a little more exclusive…but not that much more expensive. A rare circumstance, indeed.

The numbered limited edition Moto Guzzi V7 III Anniversario models are limited to 1000 units only, and they’ve been built as a special celebration of Moto Guzzi’s world famous cross-cylinder V arrangement, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The original V was first developed back in 1967 by Moto Guzzi engineer Giulio Cesare Carcano, and what better way to celebrate its half-century milestone than by dolling it up in some sexy bodywork and throwing a bit of bling on it?

The 2017 Moto Guzzi V7 III Anniversario

The engine doesn’t get much of an upgrade, but it’s still powered by Guzzi’s modern 745cc, air-cooled, cross-cylinder V-twin engine that’s capable of shooting out a respectable 52 hp at 6,200 rpm. Like the other three models, it comes equipped with all the modern necessaries to keep Mother Europe happy, like an advanced ABS feature, MGCT (Moto Guzzi Controllo Trazione) traction control that keeps the rear wheel in check, and a modern Eco Ride system that stops the thing from glugging down too much fuel when you’re banging around town.

That’s enough about the similarities though, because the Anniversario is a special edition. Since it’s one of the most exclusive Moto Guzzis that has ever gone into production, it does come with a few nice bits and pieces to set it apart from the crowd. First up, it’s got a gold engraved Moto Guzzi eagle sitting in pride of place on the fuel tank, chromed aluminum bodywork features, polished rims, and a rather sophisticated brown leather seat for good measure.

The Gem Of The Moto Guzzi 2017 Range

The upgrades might not be as impressive as you’d want, but when you compare the price of the Anniversario up against the rest of the Moto Guzzi V7 range, it’s quite good value for money. If you want to own one of these exclusive 1000 units, then expect to pay $9,990. That’s the exact same price as the more mundane Racer. The Moto Guzzi V7 III Special has an MSRP of $8,490, while the Stone has an MSRP of $7,990. So that pinch of “exclusivity” doesn’t come with a major price increase.

The Anniversario, Racer and Special will be available from next month (April), while the Stone is already in dealerships.
