Beautifully and meticulously made by B.D. Evans, this "storyteller" drum is from the late 1980s. Near perfect. There are a few tiny, tiny dings and a couple of tiny paint scrapes where I brushed it against a white will. But they're barely noticeable.
I played it at monthly men's group meetings and retreats for several years in the late 80s and early 90s. Always kept it either in the Tuxedo bag (when transporting/moving) or on the stand in my home. Lovingly cared for.
My recollection is that Brad created this drum specifically for people in the men's movement like Robert Bly, Michael Mead (who I know used one in his storytelling sessions at gatherings, retreats and conferences), and others.
The sound is gorgeous, the craftsmanship impeccable.
Drumhead size is the 13" on size/dimensions
I'm sad to see it leave, but looking forward to having someone else enjoy her tones for themselves and others.
