This is a rare and special instrument.
My dad bought this at a Renaissance Faire in Ashland Oregon in the mid 70’s. These “Appalachian dulcimers” are usually made with just 4 strings.
This has 6, giving it a richer tone and more versatility for musicians used to 6 stringed instruments.
It holds a tune just fine. Comes with the cool case I made for it, (electric guitar case with sheepskin cut out to surround the dulcimer.)
Can be played on lap or used with a strap and played like a guitar, (how I used to)
Snark tuner and extra strings also included (snark needs a new battery but works. I tune this by ear using my keyboard)
This has come with me on many adventures and was my main song writing instrument for a while, but for personal reasons, I am ready to let it go.
I am in Tijeras, but moving in April and have family in Santa Fe (near Cafe Fina) and a storage unit on 599 & I-25..
I can usually meet anywhere along the way, provided I am already coming up to Santa Fe, (or you might be making a trip to ABQ) just contact me to coordinate.
