Trinidad is on I/25, an easy 200 mile drive from Denver or Santa Fe. It is surrounded by picturesque Fishers Peak, the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range and Trinidad Lake, with the Santa Fe Trail and Purgatoire River running through town. The town is full of Western history and character. The Amtrak stops in Trinidad on its way from Chicago to LA.
The City of Trinidad is an emerging art community. It has been officially designated as a Colorado Creative District. Art Space based in Minneapolis is in the process of developing a major artist's community in Trinidad. Nature Conservancy has recently made very large land purchases in the Southeast Colorado (Trinidad) region. Colorado's branch of Burning Man has recently moved from the Denver area to just west of Trinidad.
Trinidad is blessed with four real seasons, none too harsh, with 300 days of sunshine a year. It has fresh mountain air and water, and dramatically distinctive skies. Real estate is very affordable and property taxes are low.
