We are seeking a motivated and skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Your expertise will help customers get back to work quickly with reliable equipment, whether it’s lawnmowers, generators, or other outdoor power equipment. Duties:
Diagnose issues with small engines, including lawnmowers, chain saws, generators, and other outdoor power equipment
Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment based on schematics and technical manuals
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, belt adjustments, and carburetor cleaning
Troubleshoot electrical systems within small engines, including wiring and ignition components
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and safety standards are met
Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used
Assist customers by explaining repairs needed and providing maintenance advice to extend equipment lifespan
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or in a similar service technician role with dealership experience preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, including gasoline and diesel-powered units
Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair techniques
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques
Experience with automotive repair, equipment repair, generator repair, and vehicle maintenance is highly desirable
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex issues
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Knowledge of outdoor power equipment or heavy machinery repair is a plus but not required
Physical ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform manual labor as needed
